Contributor's copies of DARKLING MMXI have been mailed out. Subscription copies are now available for $10. We are currently reading poetry submissions for the 2012 edition.

Darkling Publications is happy to announce Kenneth DiMaggio's collection "American Gothics" as the 2011 Darkling Publications Chapbook winner. DiMaggio, from Hartford, Connecticut, has been a long-time contributor to Darkling. All entrants in the contest will be hearing from us soon regarding their entries. Our congratulations go out to DiMaggio and all other contestants.

DARKLING MMXI is in the final stages of production and will be available in the coming weeks. Order now to get your copy. With each year, Darkling Publications strives to improve our flagship product, and we believe this year's is a phenomenal issue. We're also beginning our reading season for DARKLING MMXII, so submissions are welcome. See our guidelines page for details.

If you have not yet visited the Shopzone, please do so. The Black Book Trinity from our first three DARKLING editions is available, as is the White Book from 2009 and the Red Book from 2010. You can also find the current Darkling chapbooks from Vickie Christensen, David S. Powell, and
our own Editor James C. Van Oort.

Our Featured Poet for this edition is Alan Britt of Reiserstown, MD. Vickie Christensen, whose chapbook "Undiscovered Country" was the 2009 contest winner, has penned an insightful tribute to William Blake for our Beyond the Grave section.

DARKLING MMXI is in production and should be available late summer.

The 2011 reading season for DARKLING has come to an end. We will be in touch with all contributors shortly regarding our decisions. Please consider that you still have a month to submit for our chapbook contest. Deadline is June 15.

Darkling Publications would like to remind all poets that you still have until May 15 to submit for DARKLING MMXI. Also, remember you can submit electronically. See the guidelines section of this website for information on how to submit your work.

Also, remember our chapbook contest. Details are as follows:
*Submit approximately 30 pages of material.
*No theme is necessary, dark poetry is preferred but excellent poetry of any type will be considered.
*We do not print pornography or excessive profanity.
*The editors reserve the right to determine which poems and in which order poems shall be printed, therefore the final publication may deviate from the original manuscript as submitted by the contestant.

*$20.00 reading fee.
*Make check out to Darkling Publications.
*We will read submissions up to June 15th, 2011.
*The winner will be notified in August.
*Expected publication will be November, 2011.
*Each entrant will receive 1 copy of the winning chapbook.
*The winning poet will receive 10 copies of the winning chapbook and a 20% discount on any additional copies ordered.
*Editors may make comments on chapbooks submitted and will make comment if comments are requested.

Greetings Darkling Friends:

We are excited to finally be able to unveil the 5th anniversary edition of DARKLING. We believe it is our best issue yet. In this issue you will find several familiar DARKLING poets as well as some exceptional new ones.
We here at DARKLING would like to express a hearty thank you to everyone who has been part of our first five years in the publishing business. We genuinely hope to be able to continue publishing dark poetry many years into the future. We are currently reading submissions for the 2011 edition and DARKLING MMXI will be available in 2011. We are also gearing up for our 2nd chapbook contest which is underway. I would like to invite all of you to submit your best body of work for this contest.
